The Automatic, Robotics, and Mechatronics (ARM) group of the University of Almería (UAL), affiliated with the Solar Energy Research Center (CIESOL), has strengthened its position as a national reference in engineering and robotics following its outstanding participation in the XLVI Automatic Control Conference, recently held in Cartagena.

With a historic representation of more than 25 researchers, the ARM group presented cutting-edge advances in areas such as automatic control, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems. Their participation included lectures, technical communications, and practical demonstrations, highlighting the high level of innovation and technology transfer developed at UAL.

During the event, Professor Manuel Berenguel Soria, director of the ARM group and Professor of Systems and Automatic Control Engineering, received the 2025 National Automatic Control Award, granted by the Spanish Automatic Control Committee (CEA), in recognition of his scientific career and contributions to the advancement of automation in Spain.

Additionally, researchers Igor and Fernando, members of the ARM group, were honored with awards for their outstanding contributions in technical communications, reinforcing the group’s leadership in applied research and its international projection.

The participation of the ARM group in these conferences underscores UAL’s and CIESOL’s commitment to research excellence and technological innovation, consolidating their position as a national reference in the field of engineering and robotics.
