The University of Almería (UAL), through CIESOL, has officially signed a Service-Level Agreement (SLA) with the EU-SOLARIS research infrastructure, marking the beginning of a new strategic alliance aimed at strengthening common objectives and consolidating the national network of this infrastructure.

EU-SOLARIS, a European consortium in the field of concentrating solar thermal energy, currently comprises four member countries (Spain, France, Cyprus, and Germany) and two observer countries (Portugal and Greece). In Spain, this network already includes eleven collaborating nodes, now joined by the University of Almería.

CIESOL brings its potential as a strategic partner thanks to its strong research activity and international outreach, through innovative academic programs, globally recognized research groups, and state-of-the-art facilities. This collaboration reinforces the shared commitment to innovation, scientific cooperation, and technological advancement.

The agreement is part of a strategic development plan aimed at upgrading and modernizing existing experimental facilities. The goal is to enhance the specialization of each entity and to emphasize the complementarity of their capabilities.

Before this addition, EU-SOLARIS already collaborated with ten entities in Spain: CIEMAT-PSA, CENER, IMDEA Energía, University of Lleida, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, CIC energiGUNE, Fundación Tekniker, UNED, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. The inclusion of CIESOL strengthens the network, promotes synergies, and contributes to achieving the strategic objectives of the infrastructure.

Through this alliance, EU-SOLARIS and CIESOL aim to share knowledge, resources, and expertise, reinforcing their commitment to excellence in the field of concentrating solar thermal energy.
